Close encounters

Let me introduce our little girl Olivia.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It took me over half an hour to get over seeing this, and even then seeing the pictures again, seeing babies in the street or thinking about it made me fill up (no denying it, I am the biggest sap you'll ever meet, just ask anyone who saw 'Finding Nemo' with me), for the first 10 minutes I couldn't speak (a novelty Rebecca enjoyed)
What these pictures don't show is just how much she was moving around, clearly taking after me (I rarely sit still) which was just amazing. We also got a brilliant look at her little face which blew my find, the features were so clear, I could've stared at her for hours.

This brings back fond memories indeed. I still have Joe's scan on my desk. We opted for finding out what gender he was too (in the face of many a person saying "you'll spoil the surprise"... let's face it, there's two things it could be, if there were a third then THAT would be a surprise).

Congrats to you both.

Awwwww!

This post made me feel all warm and glowy inside. And for once I won't mock you for being a big sissy wimp-boy.If you can't cry at things like this, what can you cry at?

I repeat: awwwww! And Olivia is a very pretty name.

Congrats to you and Bec. xxx

She is the cat's pyjamas and Olivia is a lovely name. dead chuft for you both.
So how many hours will she be before you give her a comic? And do they make superman babygrows?

Cheers folks.
Superman, for a girl? Not enough good female superheroes, well, not enough that wear plenty of clothes!

Wonderful pics Paul. Her Auntie is being a bit of a sap too right now.

Oh no, it's hereditary.

Hey, you snuck a comment in when I wasn't looking! Cheers man.

Wonderous. You can make comics... and other good things too!

How about Wonderwoman babygrows?

Dunno, even WW's outfit's a bit skimpy - I guess I'm going to be one of those dad 'You're not going out wearing that?'!

If you're upset that the placenta she's wearing is too skimpy, she's in trouble!

Olivia was one of my name choices, too (yet too close to olive for brain, who has a bizarre aversion to them...)

Oh lord, a girl. Girls are trouble... I know from experience :-)

It's becoming real now, isn't it? My baby gender vibe was on the spot, that's right, I still got it.

Congratulations and welcome to the parental posse! Was sorely tempted with our latest, also "in the oven", to find out the gender, having a pink and a blue one already, but managed to resist and now have to wait and see. I know what INJun says about surprises but it's such a short period of time it's fun to milk that anticipation, certainly for me anyhoo.

What's due date again? We're expecting October! Lovely name, btw!

Again, big congrats to you all :-)

Hmmm, Olive is wrong, but only because of 'On The Buses'.
You'll be just beating us to the punch Jo, ours is due early November.

could this be a case of "Something Wicked This Way Comes" with both being born either side of midnight on all hallows eve I wonder?

I see a lightning rod salesman yonder.

One of my faves, INJun! Love that book, has the Jonathon Pryce/Jason Robards movie come out on DVD yet? It's a must have....

Great book and film indeed, IIRC Ro-jaws put it in his top 10 films for that year '84 ?

I don't think 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' is out on region 2, but there's some funny looking copies floating around on ebay. I've been tempted, but I'll wait and see if it gets a proper release. That said, the film freaked me out intensely when I was 8.
