The Abominable Dr Phibes

Classic film.
Figured it was time to go back to a kind of drawing I'm most comfortable with, hence the french curvy bendy arms.

nice pic for Halloween - I'm tempted to whack that movie on tonight as it goes

Been scribbling a Halloween pic actually, might get it done by tomorrow.
Bit disappointed by my Phibes pic looking at it now, I'm happy with Phibes himself, but I really should make more effort on backgrounds.
It's always worth watching Phibes again - mind you follow it up with Theatre of Blood.

Paul. I'm neurotically checking your blog for baby updates. Please include with nearly each post. I'm living vicariously, remember??

Tell us what the baby's doing, when she's awake...is Bec dilated at all? I'm sure she is just a bit. What's her due date?? COME ON

Thanks Garen.
Sorry Nim, at this point no posts mean no news. Due date is the 7th so it's very close, and I'm making sure my mobile's with me all the time at work, but so far Olivia seems pretty comfortable right where she's at.

Terrific illo Paul. Very nice and I'm a big fan of the curvy lines.

Shall get my own Bob Phibes pic done shortly, I promise ;-)

Cheers fellas.
Love terry Thomas in School for Scoundrels, and Caroline Munro in Captain Kronos, yum!
Looking forward to your Phibes Mr Bling!

Awesome, words can not describe how pleased I am to see this! Phibes rocks, and the under loved grand precursor to Seven!

Oh, and Captain Kronos! Another childhood fave, wish that had been a big enough hit to warrant the series they had planned!

paulhd said...

Thanks Nik! It is a shame about the lack of more Kronos. Did you ever see the comic sequel in the Hammer Horror mag? Lovely artwork from Ian Gibson.

Nik Holmes said...

Oh man, never even knew that existed! I love Ian Gibson, his Steed and Mrs Peel was ace.

paulhd said...

Yeah it was great, wish Morrison and Gibson had done more of them.
Bet you're going to be scouring the shops for the Hammer Horror mags now:) Give me a shout if you don't have any luck and I'll sort something out.
