The totally excellent Death Race 2000 was produced by Roger Corman and Paul Bartel directed it, a perfect meeting of exploitation and fun. Horrifyingly Paul Anderson maybe remaking it, so there's a good chance it'll suck.
Anyway, here's my stab at it with a pic of Frankenstein (played by David Carradine). I'm sorta chuffed with this, mainly cos of the background, which was a result of me not quite being sure how to do a half tone effect, in the end I got an effect I liked better. Going with the look of the bg I decided to go a little further and tried to mimic an off register effect on Frankenstein's leathers.

Wow! Is this more Wacom / Photoshop stuff? Worth every penny. Very cool - love the background too!
Absolutely love it, PHD. Any chance of slapping some text on this and working it up as an "alternate" dvd cover or poster? It would look boss, as the kids might say.
And regarding Indy in the post down there, I quite agree. I've always preferred Indy to Star Wars, and it's great to see Ford back in the gear. Excitement!
Cheers fellas!
Drawn with a felt tip and a black coloured pencil (reckon I might be using that more), scanned and then coloured with the tablet and photoshop Danny, best birthday pressie I've had!
Yeah, might dress it up as a DVD cover or poster, been planning on doing a bunch of film pix, could be a cool way of presenting them Kelvin.
Indy excitement indeed!
"You want to make love to me because I drive the Monster and wear this costume ?!"
Super pic Paul !!!!!
Seems like two good reasons to me:)
Cheers Andrew.
If you do work some of these up as posters, please do do a Captain Kronos one!
You reckon it's make a good poster? Still pleased how that pic came out, but don't think it'd work as a poster... maybe I could do a new one, I'll add it to my list:)
Yes, if the old one doesn't work, do a new one!
Yes sah!
excellent.
as nige would say: superb. the colouring and half-tone/moire effect works a treat.
ah, deathrace, such an ace film...and the inspiration for one of my favourite computer games of all time - carmageddon. t'was the original computer game nasty!
Get a smile from thinking 'superb' Paul.
Always wanted to play Carmageddon.
