Captain America meme

There’s another meme just starting, this time it’s Captain America’s turn, inspired by the recent storyline that I’ll not spoil.... then again I’m sure everyone who’d care, and a few others beside, already know. Cap. has long been one of my fave superheroes and I had tried to draw him a while ago and failed, but when the meme calls inspiration strikes!
Seeing as it takes me ages to colour in my creaky fashion I'm posting the b&w now and I'll edit this post later when the colour version's done, in the meantime, hope you like.

Edited to add the colour versi
on, and a quicky Red Skull version - it struck while doing this one the Vincent Price would've made a top Red Skull.
If you dropped by to check out the meme, why not look at some of the other artwork here. Thanks for visiting!

Excellent work. Love the Red Skull variant also.

Going to have to join in on this meme, being a Cap fan and all.

Those rock!

You're right - there is something pretty Phibes-tastic about the Red Skull

Ah, good old dumb as a post Brian Braddock! Yeah, I dig Cap Britain, only when Moore and Delano wrote him really.
Sorry about the shaky colour pics, no idea why the flat colours ended up looking like olivia had dribbled over them.
Wanna see your Cap pic Ian, draw one draw one!

Done.

Captain America is superb, and one of Brubaker's best titles. I recommend you pick up of the trades. "Out Of Time" is a great adventure/spy yarn. Brubaker takes Cap and turns him into a pulp hero.

Been following Ed Brubaker's stuff since his indie days, his CA is excellent, and I'm loving Daredevil with Michael Lark's stunning art - although I do miss Gotham Cenral.
Now, everybody, go and look at ian's Cap pic, utterly amazing!

That is just fab. I like Ultimate Captain America a lot, but the original's a pretty cool costume - I love that Red Skull!

Good stuff! I love the big bouncy kids' cartoon-ness of it (and that's not a slight; I love kids' cartoons). I'm not sure I'm capable of doing Cap, as I've never had much affinity for him, but we'll see.

Oh you've coloured these since I was here last !! Funky !!

I caved in and did one. This one was really tough I thought, but then I've got no "feel" for Cap.

Kelvin - No slight taken, cartoons rock! Glad to see you joined in.
Jason - Hmmmm, mixed feeling's about the Ultimates, but you can't argue with Bryan Hitch's artwork! Cheers.
Andrew - Glad you like, I'm still struggling with colouring stuff, I should make more of an effort.

Cheers Johnny, bit nervous about that boot sole, glad it's gone down well.
