Rojaws and Hammerstein

Long time 2000ad fans will know who these guys are. Did this a while a go, it was one of my occassional atempts at drawing in a different style, I felt like trying to capture a little of the look of yer classic 2000ad artdroids McMahon and O'Neill, both of them comic gods.

Yeah, liking the pen and ink style! (Is it all pen or is there brush too?)
How long ago was this done? I remember you had a period a while ago of abandoning the brush...

Either way, keep it coming...

Chunky n scratchy, yup that's the look I was after. Cheers chaps.
This un was brush and pen, the scratchy was pen and the rest was brush, still quite like that look. It was just after I'd done a 'punky' strip that was supposed to look like old UK comics which was when I realised I could not live by pen alone, or at all really, my penmanship wasn't up to much.

Great pic ! I've always been tempted to model Ro-Jaws,I may get around to it eventually.I had a look at 200AD the other day in Forbidden Planet,it really is dreadful now,I'm suprised it's still going. You can't beat Cam Kennedy,Ron Smith, Bolland,McMahon,Esquerra to name but a few !!

Glad you like.
Now Cam Kennedy would've done a great RoBusters.
Man it's hard not to sound like some old geezer, but 2000ad's just not what it was. Every now and then there's a good strip, but it's not enough. Sob. Mind you whenever they run some Disraeli stuff I pick it up.
